  2. ¾ cup freshly grated coconut
  3. ⅓ cup jaggery (adjust as per taste)
  4. ⅓ cup whole wheat flour
  5. A pinch of salt
  6. Oil for frying
  7. Butter paper (for shaping)

🔪 Preparation Steps

1. Boil & Mash Sweet Potatoes

  • Peel and mash them well using a grater or grinder. Set aside to cool.

2. Make the Sweet Filling

  • In a pan, add grated coconut and jaggery.
  • Cook on a low flame for 5 minutes till the mixture blends well.
  • Turn off the heat and let it cool.

3. Prepare the Dough

  • To the mashed sweet potatoes, add wheat flour and a pinch of salt.
  • Mix and knead into a soft, slightly sticky dough. Do not add water.

4. Shape the Nevryos

  • Place butter paper on a plate and dust it lightly with flour.
  • Oil your hands to prevent sticking.
  • Take a small ball of dough, place it on the butter paper, and press it into an oval shape using your fingers.
  • Add a spoon of filling on one side, then fold it to form a half-moon. Seal the edges gently.

5. Fry Until Golden

  • Heat oil in a frying pan.
  • Carefully slide in the nevryos and fry till they turn crisp and golden on both sides.
  • Drain on a tissue.
