✨ Ingredients:
- Mushroom 20-30 buttons
- Chopped onion
- 3 to 6 bulbs of garlic
- Grated coconut
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tomato chopped
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Oil
🧑🍳 Method:
- Prep the Mushrooms:
- Wash mushrooms thoroughly and wipe them clean with a damp cloth. Cut each mushroom into halves.
- Make the Masala Paste:
- In a pan, heat 1 tsp oil. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- Add grated coconut and garlic. Fry until the coconut turns golden.
- Turn off the heat. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and coriander powder. Mix well.
- (If you're using whole coriander seeds and dry red chillies instead of powder, fry them before grinding.)
- Let the mixture cool slightly, then grind it into a smooth, thin paste using water.
- Cook the Mushroom Curry:
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a kadhai. Add some chopped onion and sauté.
- Add the halved mushrooms, chopped tomatoes, and salt. Mix and cook until they soften and turn slightly golden.
- Add the ground masala paste and 1 tsp garam masala. Mix well.
- Cook on medium flame until the curry thickens and the mushrooms are well-cooked.
🍚 Serving Suggestion:
Serve hot with steamed rice, chapatis, or Goan pao (bread rolls).
💡 Tip:
For a richer flavor, you can add a spoonful of coconut milk or cashew paste at the end!
