For the cutlet mixture
- 250 g prawns (cleaned & deveined)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 small potato, boiled & mashed
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp red chilli powder (adjust to taste)
- ½ tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp oil
For coating
- 2 tbsp maida (all-purpose flour)
- Water (to make thin slurry)
- Bread crumbs (as needed)
For frying
- Oil for shallow or deep frying

- Prepare the prawns
Finely chop the prawns or pulse once in a mixer (do not make a paste). - Cook the mixture
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.
Add onions and sauté till soft.
Add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies; sauté till raw smell disappears. - Add prawns & spices
Add chopped prawns, turmeric, chilli powder, garam masala, and salt.
Cook for 3–4 minutes until prawns are done and mixture dries slightly. - Mix & cool
Switch off the flame.
Add mashed potato and coriander leaves.
Mix well and let it cool completely. - Shape the cutlets
Shape the mixture into oval or round cutlets. - Coat the cutlets
Dip each cutlet in maida slurry, then coat with bread crumbs. - Fry
Fry in medium-hot oil till golden and crisp on both sides.
Drain on tissue paper.
