Crispy Onion Pakoda Recipe | Goan Style Tea-Time Bhaji

🥘 Ingredients
- 4 to 5 tbsp besan
- 1-2 tbsp Rice flour /corn flour
- 4-5 onion chopped and thin sliced
- 2 green chilies chopped
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Pinch of hing
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
- Mint chopped optional
- Green coriander chopped
- Salt as per taste
- Oil to fry
👩🍳 Method
- Thinly slice the onions and place them in a mixing bowl.
- Add chopped green chilies, coriander, and mint (if using).
- Add all the spices: red chili powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida, black pepper powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add besan and rice or corn flour.
- Slowly add a little water and mix to form a thick batter that holds together but isn’t too runny.
- Heat oil in a deep pan on medium heat.
- Take a spoonful of the batter and gently drop it into hot oil. Fry until the pakodas turn golden brown and crispy.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with tomato ketchup or enjoy with your favorite tea.
