Rava Bhakari Recipe | Goan Semolina Flatbread (No Fermentation)
“Rava Bhakari is a rustic and hearty Goan flatbread made with semolina, coconut, and simple spices. It’s often made when there's no time to ferment dough — soft inside, crisp on the edges, and perfect with green chutney or bhaji.”
✨ Ingredients:
- rava (salmonella) 1cup
- Green chilies chopped
- salt to taste
- jaggery grated
- grated coconut
- 2 tsp pure ghee
- Water as required
🧑🍳 Method:
- In a bowl or utensil, add the rava, salt, chopped green chilies, grated coconut, jaggery, and enough water to form a thick batter. Mix well.
- Heat ghee in a kadhai or non-stick pan.
- Pour the mixture into the pan and spread it evenly like a pancake or thick dosa.
- Cook on medium heat for 3–5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve hot with tomato ketchup or your favorite chutney.
🌟 Tip:
You can make small rounds for kids and serve as evening snacks or tiffin treats!
